A late bloomer, the province is well known for its pristine beaches stretching along a 100-kilometer coastline and scenic waterfalls amidst exotic surroundings. Aside from this, Rayong is blessed with an abundance of seafood products such as shrimp paste, fish sauce and dried seafood, and tropical fruits of which rambutan, mangosteen and durian are the most famous.
Covering a total area of 3,552 square kilometers, Rayong borders Chonburi Province on the north and the west, the Gulf of Thailand on the south, and Chantaburi Province on the east. Most of the land is marked by a series of mountains interspersed by flat plains and large tracts of forest and fruit plantations. Administratively, the province is divided into Mueang Rayong, Klaeng, Ban Khai, Bang Chang, Pluak Daeng and Wang Chan districts and Khao Chamao and Nikhom Phatthana Sub-districts.
Boasting indispensable sea-life resources, Rayong is one of the country’s major agricultural and industrial provinces. On the other hand, the province has maintained its traditions and customs in the daily lifestyle of the locals. The best months to visit Rayong are from November to February.
The Past
During the late Ayutthaya period, when the former capital was being razed to the ground by the invading Burmese, Phaya Tak led a troop of patriots, broke through the cordon of besieging troops and marched to Rayong in order to build up his navy before proceeding on to Chanthaburi. Because of his courage and bravery, the soldiers and local population anointed him as "King" in Rayong. Once he had built up sufficient troop strength, Phaya Tak who later became King Taksin of the Kingdom of Thonburi returned to Ayutthaya, routed the Burmese and set up a new capital in Thonburi.

Sukhumvit Road (Highway No.3): Starting from Bangkok passes Bangpu District, Chonburi town, Bangsaen, Sri Racha District, Pattaya, Hat Jomtien, Sattahip District, Ban Chang District to arrive in the center of Rayong Province. The total distance is 220 kilometers.
Route No.2
The most popular route, starting from Bangna-Trat Road (Highway No.34) via Bang Phli and Bang Bo District (Samut Prakan Province) and Highway No.3 at km. 70. The total distance is 220.
Route No.3
Drive along Highway No.3 to Bang Lamung, then turn off of Highway No.3 at Km.140 and continue on Highway No.36 to Rayong. Total distance is 210 kilometers.
Route No.4
Taking Highway No.344 (Ban Bung-Klaeng) at Chonburi town, passing Ban Bung, Nong Yai, Wang Chan and finishing at Klaeng District, Rayong Province. The total distance is 100 kilometers. (Bangkok-Chonburi is 80 kilometers)
This route is suitable for those who like to go sightseeing in Klaeng District and Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park or passing through Chanthaburi Province.

Use the Motorway, starting from Phatthanakarn Road, Prawet District, Bangkok and drive all the way up to Pattaya (120 kilometers), then switch to use Highway No.36 and proceed for another 50 kilometers to Rayong.

Rayong Aquarium
Located in the Eastern Marine Fisheries Research and Development Centre, Ban Phe, the aquarium keeps various kinds of beautiful fish and sea plants. The centre conducts study, research and testing regarding marine biology and behaviors of marine life. A large aquarium with a tunnel allows visitors to see various beautiful fish as well as economic-related creatures living in the mangrove forest such as cuttlefish, crab, giant clam, and horseshoe crab.
The outdoor aquarium also houses various marine life. The turtle pond houses hawksbill turtles, olive turtles, and leatherback turtles. The fish pond houses large species of fish. Visitors can witness the real underwater world in a special pond that houses starfish, anemone and sea cucumber. Various fishery tools in miniature are also displayed. The Fossil Museum exhibits stuffed and extinct animals as well as a display of rare animals such as humpback dolphin and Irrawaddy Dolphin. Seafood products are available on sale outside the building.

The Sopha Arboretum
The extensive grounds located near the entrance to Ban Phe, just about 200 meters off Highway No.3 at Km. marker 238 are home to various flowering plants. A 100-year-old Thai-style wooden structure houses porcelain ware from various periods, in particular the Ban Chiang style. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Herb Garden
PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) has planted and established the first herb garden of Thailand since 1984 on the 60-rai area with the objective to conserve and develop the natural resources for people in the next generation. Various kinds of herbs are gathered and planted in the garden, which was later presented to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 18 April 1985. The landscape was developed and more herbs were planted and the 50th Birthday Anniversary in honor to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building was built on the auspicious occasion of the Princess 50th Birthday Anniversary in 2006.
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Herbs Garden comprises of 2 parts:
1. The Herb Garden
The garden of more than 260 medicinal herbs of about 20,000 herb trees which can be divided into 20 groups according to their medical properities. The garden serves as the source of Thai Herbal knowledge and the place for recreation.
2. The 50th Birthday Anniversary in honor to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building

It is not only a center where various herbal plants are put on display the place as well engages in herbal research. Ko Samet
A favorite get-away island for Bangkokians, Ko Samet offers extensive pristine beaches with clean white sand and strangely shaped rocks. A haven for relaxation, this T-shaped island is a perfect retreat for those looking for sun, sand and sea. The climate is always pleasantly cool with an abundance of rain in August and windy monsoons in May.
There are a wide range of accommodations on the island with prices at the low-end starting from 200 baht for a bungalow with basic amenities, while bungalows with furniture and air-conditioning may start at the rate of 600 baht. Mid-range hotels and resorts mostly located around the Hat Sai Kaew area are also available. Hat Sai Kaeo
One of the most beautiful and most popular beaches on Koh Samet, Hat Sai Kaew is 1 kilometer long and 25 – 30 meters wide. The name speaks for itself, Hat Sai Kaew, which literally means Crystal Sand Beach, is a nice beach filled with activities. From dusk to dawn, visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, jet skiing, windsurfing, riding on a banana boat or even partying at night.

Ao Noi Na
Ao Noi Na, which is located near Hat Sai Kaew, has different ambience. It is quieter and therefore more suitable for those looking for a truly relaxing experience on the white, clean sandy beach.
Ao Hin Khok
Ao Hin Khok is separated from Hat Sai Kaew by a small rocky sea point where a mermaid statue is located. The beach, which is half the size of Hat Sai Kaew, is famous for its strangely shaped rocks. There are inexpensive bungalows/huts located along the beach, and also value-for-money restaurants providing fresh, quality seafood dishes.
Ao Pai
Located close to Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Pai is therefore quite crowded. For visitors interested in sunbathing, this is the ideal place as swimming is not recommended as there is whirlpool on the sea, as designated by the red flag.
Ao Phutsa
Ao Put Sa is a small bay on Koh Samet which draws repeat visitors intent on relaxing. Suitable for those who are tired of crowded beaches and nightlife activities, Ao Put Sa offers a quite retreat that reunites visitors with nature in its crystal clear waters.
Ao Thapthim
Ao Tub Tim, which is set in a tranquil atmosphere, is located near Ao Put Sa and is well known for its white sand and clear water. Ao Tub Tim has a small, cozy resort, which provides nice services in a well decorated compound.
Ao Nuan
Ao Nuan is located near Ao Put Sa and is a perfect hideaway for holidaymakers in search of tranquility.
Ao Wong Deuan
Ao Wong Deuan is the second largest beach on the island (the first being Hat Sai Kaew). Ao Wong Deuan attracts tourist groups during both the high and low seasons due to its beautiful white sandy beach and good accommodations. On top of this, good seafood restaurants with nice views are also available.
Ao Thian (Candlelight Beach)
Ao Thian’s topography is painted by rocky beach in which some nice spots for skin diving are available. This beach is very quiet and free from group tours with bungalows and resorts available around the beach area.
Ao Wai
Ao Wai is located within a short walking distance of Candlelight Beach. Shaded by coconut trees, the beach is a quite, scenic and serene spot for sea lovers.
Ao Kiu Nok
This bay is a perfect secluded den for those planning to keep their distance from the busy, crowded beaches and vibrant nightlife. From Aow Kiew Nok, visitors can actually walk to Aow Kiew Nai which is the ideal spot to see the spectacular sun rise and sun set.
Ao Karang
The best place to experience the traditional lifestyle of the residents of Koh Samet is at Ao Karang where there also are a number of seafood restaurants providing fresh seafood dishes at reasonable prices.
Ao Wiang Wan
Ao Wiang Wan is located on the west of Na Dan Pier, a large bay where lots of sport activities such as fishing, etc. take place.
Ao Phrao
Ao Prow is one of the quietest beaches of Ko Samet. Located quite far away from the lively nightlife of Ko Samet; Ao Prow is preferred by travelers who quietly enjoy the deep blue sea and white sand in the sunshine. Ao Prow has a long white sandy beach which is ideal for swimming.
How to get there: Four operators; namely, Nuanthip, Si Ban Phe, Phe Port, and Saphan Pla, around Ban Phe offer shuttle boat services between their ports and the main port of the island. All operators charge a flat rate of 100 baht per person for a round trip or 50 baht for a single journey. Boats can leave anytime when more than 20 passengers are waiting. The service is available around the clock, seven days a week.
For groups of at least 7 persons, Nuanthip Boat (0 3865 1508) offers a shuttle boat service to other bays as well, such as Ao Wong Duean (120 baht each) and to the last bay Ao Pakarang (200 baht each). Si Ban Phe Boat (0 3865 1902) also runs a scheduled boat service during weekends between Ban Phe and the main port of Samet. The hourly boat service from Ban Phe runs from 8.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the return trip from Samet, the boat leaves at 10.00 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The company also offers a speed boat service at 1,000 baht a trip for 12 people to the main port, or higher rates for other routes. A parking service on the main land is available.
Getting around on Ko Samet: The island has only a single road. Some parts are concrete and some parts are only a dirt trail. A pick up truck offers a passenger service to the desired beach. The fee depends on negotiation, ranging from 20-100 baht each. Chartered service to get around the island costs between 200-1,500 baht.
Attractions on Ko Samet and Nearby:
Most beaches are on the eastern side of the island. The beaches hide in small bays and stretch some 200 metres. From the north, there are Hat Sai Kaeo, Hat Hin Khrong, Hat Khlong Phai, Ao Phutsa, Ao Thapthim, Ao Naun, Ao Cho, Ao Thian, Ao Wai, Ao Kio Na Yok and Ao Karang. The only beach on the western side is Ao Phrao. One of the famous beaches is Ao Wong Duean in the middle of the eastern side. This beach stretches in the shape of an almost complete circle. Both Ao Wong Duean and Hat Sai Kaeo have very fine white sand.
Ko Kruai, Ko Kham, and Ko Pla Tin
These islands are some 600 metres north of Ko Kudi. With coral reefs, tourists can enjoy fishing here. A rental boat service is available at the port in Ban Phe.
Ko Kudi or Ko Kut
The island is on the east of Ko Samet, six kilometres from the mainland. Ko Kudi totals an area of 63 rai. A nice beach and coral reefs make it a nice place for a hideaway. Nearby islands are Ko Thai Khangkhao and Ko Tham Ruesi. Without accommodation, the national park office on the island offers a tent for rent at 200 baht per person/ night. Ko Thalu
Some 6 kilometres east of Ko Kudi, the island is another scuba diving site among coral reefs. The island totals an area of 69 rai, most remains lush forest. While high cliffs occupy the west, white sandy beaches occupy the east and south of the island. Ko Thalu is a habitat of seagulls, flying fox, and turtles.
Tourists visiting Ko Kudi, Ko Kruai, Ko Kham, Ko PlaTin and Ko Thalu should rent a boat from Ban Phe or Ko Samet. Wat Pa Pradu
Also dubbed "Wat Lum Market” by the locals, the temple is located next to a market which offers interesting local Thai and Chinese food.
Just watching the old houses located along the street behind the market can inspire your imagination on daily activities and lifestyles of the past.
Suan Si Mueang
Dubbed as "Ko Klang" by the locals, Suan Sri Muang is a public park and health center. Located behind the former city hall, the park is well known for its landmark – the Phra Buddha Angkhirot (Buddhist Shrine) housed in a traditional Thai style shrine.
Hat Mae Ramphueng
This 12-kilometre stretch of white sandy beach is a perfect place to enjoy the scenery while swimming. The beach trails along the way to meet Ban Kon Ao, where a small fishing community can be found. Accommodations and restaurants are available.
Hat Laem Charoen
This beach is located 5 kilometers from the city and is a popular area among the locals and tourists as it is the location of many great seafood restaurants.
Wat Saranat Thammaram
Near the turning point at km. marker 265 on Highway No. 3 is Wat Saranat Thammaram, which was built in 1945. The main attraction of this temple is a beautiful ubosot and a replica of the highly revered Phra Buddha Chinnarat statue of Phitsanulok. Around the ubosot are also replicas of major Buddhist monuments from Thailand’s four regions.
Sunthon Phu Monument
Five kilometers further on from Laem Mae Phim on the beach road (Highway No. 3145) is the Sunthorn Phu Monumentl. The place was built to commemorate one of Thailand’s most famous poets in the early Rattanakosin era, two centuries ago. Sunthon Phu, a Rayong native, had written his literary works as Phra Aphai Mani being his most well-known work. There are statues of Sunthon Phu and characters from his famous literature.
Laem Mae Phim
This cape can be reach either from Sukhumvit Road by taking a right turn at km. markers 259.5, 263 or 268, or proceeding further for another 1 kilometre from Wang Kaew on the beach road. This is a perfect spot either for relaxation and swimming or sampling local foods. To the north of the cape is a small off-shore isle named Ko Khi Pla.
Ko Man Nai
This small island located approximately 5 kilometers off shore from Laem Mae Phim has been developed into a Sea Turtle Preservation Sanctuary under the royal initiative of Her Majesty the Queen. The place is open to the public from Monday to Sunday. Nearby are Ko Man Klang and Ko Man Nok which are famous for their immaculate white sandy beaches and hip boutique resorts.
Resorts on Ko Man Klang and Ko Man Nok offer accommodation packages that include boat transfer from the Rayong pier and three meals / day. Call to book your place in advance at 02 860 3025-6. The boat trip takes only 30 minutes from the pier.
Suphattraland
Thirty kilometres from town is Suphattraland, an extensive orchard open to the public. It grows succulent mangosteen, durian and rambutan. They generally mature in late April-June. Visitors can enjoy not only the pleasant surroundings but also taste for themselves freshly-picked fruits from the trees.

Hat Phayun and Hat Phala
Hat Phayun and Hat Phala are located approximately 32 and 34 kilometers respectively from the town of Rayong. Shaded by pine trees, the beaches offer unique opportunities for tourists to unwind in tranquility. Hotels and bungalows are available as perfect hideaways.
Namtok Klong Pla Kang
The last piece of virgin forest in Rayong, the park is located in Klaeng District, 71 kilometers from the city. Declared as a National Park in December 31, 1975, Khao Chamao – Khao Wong covers an area of 83.6 square meters, which is home to tigers, wild elephants and bears. The park is famous for its limestone mountains, caves, high cliffs, verdant forests and waterfalls. Khao Chamao –Khao Wong National Park offers the following attractions:
Namtok Khao Chamao
Namtok Khao Chamao is situated approximately 17 kilometers off of the main highway at Km. marker 274. The main attraction and landmark of the 8-tiered waterfall is "Wang Mutcha” a large pond on the second level which is the habitat of Pluang fish. Reaching the top is easy and visitors can enjoy the refreshing scenery all the way up to the highest level of the waterfall.
Namtok Klong Pla Kang
Located some 3 kilometers from the National Park Office is this 7-tiered waterfall. Reaching the top of the waterfall is not quite an easy task as visitors have to walk through the verdant forest and also climb up the mountains. Plant lovers should not miss this opportunity to see several kinds of plants such as ferns, orchids, mushrooms, etc., while walking along the trails.
Pha Sawan (Heaven Cliff)
Pha Sawan is situated about 1,500 meters from the Park’s Office. The cliff is famous for its scenic lookout point which offers an intriguing panoramic view of the pristine forests. Various types of plants can be found along the way up to the cliff and are ideal for nature studies.
Camping sites are available at the price of 10 baht to pitch personal tents. Bungalows are also available (8 all together), at the cost of 800 baht/bungalow and have to be reserved well in advance. For more information, call 038 894378.
Khao Chamao - Khao Wong National Park
This national park was established in 1975, covering an area of 52,300 rai. This lush forest with a great variety of flora and fauna is the watershed of the Prasae River. The national park has two nature trails for tourists to explore herbs and animal behaviour. The trails are two kilometres and three kilometres long, respectively. To explore the trail, registration at the tourist centre is required in advance. Amission is 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children. Houses and tents are available for tourists. How to get there: The national park is 71 kilometres from Rayong town. Follow Sukhumvit Road and turn right at the Khao Din Intersection, kilometre 274. The national park is 17 kilometres away.
Attractions in the national park
Namtok Khao Chamao or Namtok Khlong Nam Sai This crystal clear waterfall is one kilometre before the national park. The waterfall comprises seven levels, stretching for three kilometres. The large pond called Wang Matcha, is a habitat of brook carp.
Pha Sawan The viewpoint is 1.5 kilometres from the national park headquarters. On the way, visitors can explore nature. Contact the national park staff first.
Namtok Khlong Pla Kang The waterfalls is three kilometres from the headquarters. Ferns and orchids grow well in this lush forest.
Namtok Khlong Hin Phoeng The small waterfall is actually in Chanthaburi province, ten kilometers from the headquarters. Water runs all year round. Nature lovers can enjoy wild flowers around the waterfall. Khao Wong (เขาวง) Many limestone mountains surround a flat plain in the middle. The amazing mountains have a total of 80 caves inside. This is also a habitat of mountain goat.
Krommaluang Chumphon Shrine The shrine houses the statue of Krommaluang Chumphonkhetudomsak, founder of Thailand's modern navy. He is much honoured by the people of Rayong. Turn right at kilometre 274 off Sukhumvit Road, the shrine is 10 kilometres away.
Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park
It is located in Ban Phe, 20 kilometres from Rayong town, the park totals an area of 81,875 rai comprising land, sea and islands. Its major attractions include Mae Ramphueng Beach, Khao Laem Ya, and Samet Archipelago. The most famous island is Samet where many private-owned bungalows are available. The park has three nature trails; namely, Ko Samet, Ko Kudi, and Khao Laem Ya. On each route, visitors can enjoy nature as well as beautiful view points. Admission fee: adults 200 baht, children 100 baht each. The national park offers houses and tents. Pitching your own tent costs 20 baht per person/night. Khao Laem Ya
Follow the beach road, a bit beyond Ban Kon Ao, to reach the seaside hill. From this sunset viewpoint, comprising scrub forest and cape, it is possible to see Mae Ramphueng Beach and Ko Samet. The 670 rai area is headquarters of the Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park. Administration is 200 baht for adults and 100 baht for children. Accomodation is available. Camping is allowed. Tents are available for rent at 300-400 baht per person/night. Pitching a private tent requires paying a fee of 20 baht per person/night. Admission is Adult 200 baht Child 100 baht. Wat Ban Don Shadow Play Museum
The museum is located in Wat Ban Don, exhibiting a hundred Nang Yai shadow play characters. The Shadow Play character, or Nang Yai, is a large piece of leather carved and painted into different characters. Aged over 200 years, these characters were brought from Phatthalung in 1988. City Pillar Shrine
Located on Lak Mueang Road, this shrine was first built of wood. Then it was replaced by a concrete construction with Chinese characteristics. The old city pillar was formerly in front of the shrine. A new one was later set up with a four-porched shelter. A celebration is held annually during the Songkran festival in mid - April.
Ban Phe
A seaside town located approximately 19 kilometers southeast of the city, Ban Phe is the best place to enjoy relaxing on a long white sandy beach while sampling sumptuous seafood. Ban Phe is a major fishing community in the province, hence, the wide range of fresh and preserved seafood products or other local products. In addition, Ban Phe is also the departure point for Ko Samet.
Wat Lum Mahachai Chumphon
Also dubbed "Wat Lum Market” by the locals, the temple is located next to a market which offers interesting local Thai and Chinese food.
Just watching the old houses located along the street behind the market can inspire your imagination on daily activities and lifestyles of the past.
The King Taksin Shrine
Located at Wat Lum Mahachai Chumpon on Taksin Road, the shrine was built to commemorate King Taksin the Great's brief stopover in Rayong to mobilize his troops and liberate the Kingdom of Ayutthaya from the Burmese. Legend has it that King Taksin the Great’s elephant was believed to be stabled at a large Parkia tree (in front of the shrine). A well-regarded place by the locals, especially the Sino-Thais, the shrine attracts big crowds during Chinese New Year and on December 28th.
Suan Son
This beach is located approximately 4 kilometers from Ban Phe. Travel along the beach-front road and visitors will find a place that offers true relaxation under the shade of pine trees. The scenic beach is eminently suited to relaxation and swimming. Accommodations and food shops are also available.
Phra Chedi Klang Nam (Wat Samut Khongkha or Wat Pak Nam)
Built at the center of the isle at the mouth of the Rayong River, the pagoda is located about 2 kilometers from town. The origin of the pagoda, which stands about 10 meters high, is still unknown. Sailors once used it as the sign of arrival in Rayong. An annual celebration held during November, features an exciting boat and Loy Krathong Festival.
Hat Saeng Chan
Situated approximately 7 kilometers from the city, this beach is connected to Laem Charoen beach and is also suitable for swimming. Accommodations and restaurants are available.
Ban Kon Ao (The Fisherman's village)
The best place in town to discover the traditional way of life is from a small but typical fisherman’s village located at the end of Hat Mae Ramphueng. Visitors can also see how they catch fish and process seafood. An additional attraction worth visiting is the Catholic Church established near the village over 100 years ago.
Wang Kaeo

Somdet Kromluang Chumphon Shrine
This shrine, which was built to honor Somdej Krommaluang Chumphon, "Father of the Royal Thai Navy”, who is highly revered by the locals is situated near the Prasair River in Klaeng District.
Ao Kai-Laem Tan
This little cape located beyond Laem Mae Phim in Klaeng District is located near a small fishing village, where the main occupation is to pickle jellyfish. Set in tranquil ambience the place is marvelous for seafood lovers with seafood restaurants providing reasonably priced seafood dishes of good quality. Traveling to Ko Man Klang can be done by taking a speedboat from here.

จังหวัดระยองตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลภาคตะวันออกของประเทศไทย อยู่ห่างจากกรุงเทพฯ 179 กิโลเมตร มีชายฝั่งทะเลยาวประมาณ 100 กิโลเมตร มีเนื้อที่ 3,552 ตารางกิโลเมตร เป็นแหล่งอาหารทะเล และผลไม้นานาชนิด เป็นเมืองอุตสาหกรรม และเป็นที่ตั้งของโครงการพัฒนาพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลตะวันออก ซึ่งมีความสำคัญต่อการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ รวมทั้งเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวชายทะเลที่สำคัญ แบ่งการปกครองออกเป็น 8 อำเภอ คือ อำเภอเมืองระยอง อำเภอแกลง อำเภอบ้านค่าย อำเภอบ้านฉาง อำเภอปลวกแดง อำเภอวังจันทร์ อำเภอเขาชะเมา และอำเภอนิคมพัฒนา

เส้นทางแรก ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3 (ถนนสุขุมวิท) จากกรุงเทพฯ ผ่านอำเภอบางปู อำเภอบางปะกง จังหวัดชลบุรี บางแสน ศรีราชา พัทยา หาดจอมเทียน สัตหีบ อำเภอบ้างฉาง ไปจนถึงอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดระยอง รวมระยะทางประมาณ 220 กิโลเมตร
เส้นทางที่ 2 ทางหลวงหมายเลข 34 (ถนนบางนา-ตราด) เริ่มจากตรงจุดสิ้นสุดทางด่วนด่านเฉลิมนคร อำเภอบางนา ผ่านอำเภอบางพลี อำเภอบางบ่อ จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ และเชื่อมต่อกับทางหลวงหมายเลข 3 ที่กิโลเมตรที่ 70 อำเภอบางปะกง จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา หลังจากนั้นก็จะผ่านเส้นทางเดียวกันกับเส้นทางที่ 1 รวมระยะทางประมาณ 220 กิโลเมตร
เส้นทางที่ 3 ทางหลวงหมายเลข 36 (บายพาส 36) จากกรุงเทพฯ ใช้เส้นทางเดียวกับเส้นทางที่ 2 จนถึงกิโลเมตรที่ 140 อำเภอบางละมุง จังหวัดชลบุรี แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าสู่เส้นทางหลวงหมายเลข 36 จากนั้นให้เดินทางต่อไปยังจังหวัดระยองด้วยระยะทาง 70 กิโลเมตร รวมระยะทางประมาณ 210 กิโลเมตร
เส้นทางที่ 4 ทางหลวงหมายเลข 344 (ถนนสายบ้านบึง-แกลง) เริ่มจากจังหวัดชลบุรี ผ่านอำเภอบ้านบึง หนองใหญ่ อำเภอวังจันทร์ และสิ้นสุดที่อำเภอแกลง เป็นระยะทาง 100 กิโลเมตร (กรุงเทพฯ-ชลบุรี 80 กิโลเมตร) เส้นทางเส้นนี้เหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการเดินทางไปยังแหล่งที่องเที่ยวในเขต อำเภอแกลง หรือเดินทางไปยังจังหวัดจันทบุรี หรือจังหวัดตราด และหากต้องการที่จะเดินทางเข้าสู่อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดระยอง ให้ใช้เส้นทางหลวงหมายเลข 3 โดยย้อนกลับมาอีกประมาณ 42 กิโลเมตร
เส้นทางที่ 5 ทางหลวงหมายเลข 7 (สายมอเตอร์เวย์) เริ่มจากถนนพัฒนาการ เขตประเวศ กรุงเทพฯ ไปสิ้นสุดที่ จังหวัดชลบุรี ระยะทาง 75 กิโลเมตร จากนั้นใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลข 36 เป็นระยะทาง 100 กิโลเมตร จนถึงอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดระยอง รวมระยะทางทั้งสิ้นประมาณ 175 กิโลเมตร

อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาชะเมา-เขาวง
อยู่ ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยอง 71 กิโลเมตร ไปตามถนนสุขุมวิทตรงกิโลเมตรที่ 274 ถึงบริเวณสี่แยกเขาดิน เลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าไป 17 กิโลเมตร ที่ทำการอุทยานฯ อยู่ในเขตท้องที่ตำบลทุ่งควายกิน มีพื้นที่ครอบคลุมอยู่ในเขตของอำเภอเขาชะ เมา อำเภอแกลง จังหวัดระยอง และอำเภอแก่งหางแมว จังหวัดจันทบุรี สภาพป่าอุดมสมบูรณ์ ได้รับการประกาศเป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติ เมื่อวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2518 มีเนื้อที่ 52,300 ไร่ เป็นต้นกำเนิดของแม่น้ำประแสร์ มีพันธุ์ไม้ต่าง ๆ อาทิ ไม้ชิงชัน ไม้ประดู่ ไม้มะค่า ไม้ตะเคียนยาง ไม้มะค่าโมง กฤษณา และกล้วยไม้ป่า และไม้ประดับจำพวกว่านต่าง ๆ หวาย ไผ่ป่า และเฟิร์นชนิดต่าง ๆ ขึ้นอยู่ทั่วไป อุทยานฯ มีเส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติ 2 เส้นทาง ตลอดเส้นทางจะได้พบพันธุ์ไม้ต่าง ๆ พืชสมุนไพร โป่งสัตว์ ที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่า มีจุดชมวิว ระยะทางเส้นทางที่ 1 จะมีความยาว 2 กิโลเมตร และเส้นทางที่ 2 ระยะทาง 3 กิโลเมตร โดยนักท่องเที่ยวจะต้องลงทะเบียนก่อนเดินศึกษาเส้นทาง ได้ที่ศูนย์บริการนักท่องเที่ยว
สถานที่น่าสนใจในเขตอุทยานฯ ได้แก่
น้ำตกเขาชะเมา (น้ำตกคลองน้ำใส) แยกจากถนนสุขุมวิทที่บริเวณหลักกิโลเมตรที่ 274 เข้าไปประมาณ 16 กิโลเมตร ลักษณะน้ำตกเป็นธารน้ำใสรองรับน้ำตกขนาดใหญ่ยาวประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร ประกอบด้วยน้ำตกที่สวยงาม 8 ชั้น ได้แก่ วังหนึ่ง เป็นลำธารไหลผ่านโขดหิน มีแอ่งน้ำให้ลงเล่นน้ำตกได้ และยังมีปลาพลวงด้วย วังมัจฉา เป็นแอ่งน้ำขนาดใหญ่ เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของปลาพลวงจำนวนมาก และมีสะพานแขวนไว้สำหรับให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้เดินชมธรรมชาติวังมรกต เหมาะสำหรับการเล่นน้ำตกเพราะมีแอ่งน้ำขนาดใหญ่ วังไทรงาม เป็นแอ่งน้ำใสสีเขียวมรกตสามารถลงเล่นน้ำได้ ผากล้วยไม้ เป็นชั้นน้ำตกที่มีขนาดใหญ่ ด้านบนของน้ำตกมีหน้าผาที่มีกล้วยไม้ขึ้นอยู่ ช่องแคบ เป็นที่มาของสายน้ำที่ไหลมาตามซอกหินเปฯชั้น ๆ น้ำตกหกสาย เป็นชั้นที่มีความสวยงามมากที่สุดเพราะน้ำตกจะไหลลงมาเป็นแผ่นผากว้าง ด้านล่างสามารถลงเล่นน้ำได้ และผาสูง เป็นชั้นสุดท้ายที่มีลักษณะเป็นลำธารไหลลงจากหน้าผาสูง
ผาสวรรค์ จากที่ทำการไปประมาณ 1,500 เมตร ซึ่งเป็นจุดชมทิวทัศน์ได้กว้างไกล ระหว่างเดินทางสามารถพบเห็นธรรมชาติที่สวยงาม และพันธุ์ไม้นานาชนิด เหมาะแก่การศึกษาค้นคว้าทางธรรมชาติ ต้องติดต่อเจ้าหน้าที่นำทาง
น้ำตกคลองปลาก้าง อยู่ห่างจากที่ทำการประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร น้ำตกคลองปลาก้างมี 7 ชั้น คือ วังช้างผ่าน เป็นชั้นน้ำตกที่ในอดีตเคยมีโขลงช้างป่าได้เดินผ่านข้ามลำธารนี้ ลานผีเสื้อ เป็นลำธารยาวมีน้ำมากในช่วงฤดูฝน และที่บริเวณนี้จะพบผีเสื้อนานาชนิดเป็นจำนวนมาก แอ่งเครือสะบ้า เป็นแอ่งน้ำกว้างสามารถลงเล่นน้ำได้ ลานประตูผา เป็นชั้นที่สวยงามที่สุด มองเห็นสายน้ำไหลผ่านระหว่างก้อนหินขนาดใหญ่ 2 ก้อน คล้ายผ่านออกมาจากช่องประตู ธารเกาะกลาง สายน้ำจากลำธารนี้จะไหลแยกออกเป็นสองสายโอบล้อมเกาะกลางลำร วังกระชาย แอ่งน้ำของน้ำตกนี้เป็นแอ่งรูแสมเหลี่ยมระดับน้ำค่อนข้างลึก รอบ ๆ บริเวณมีต้นกระชายขึ้นอยู่หนาแน่น และธารสายหมอก เป็นน้ำตกชั้นบนสุดที่ไหลลงสู่แอ่งน้ำกว้าง นักท่องเที่ยวนิยมมาเล่นน้ำที่ชั้นนี้ ยังเป็นชั้นที่สวยที่สุดอีกด้วย ตลอดทางขึ้นน้ำตกจะเป็นป่าธรรมชาติ มีพันธุ์ไม้จำพวกเฟิร์น ว่าน และกล้วยไม้ป่าขึ้นอยู่ทั่วไป และที่น้ำตกแห่งนี้มีค่ายพักแรม จำนวน 2 หลัง พักได้หลังละ 30 คน ราคา 3,000 บาท ติดต่อสอบถามรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมได้ที่ กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติสัตว์ป่าและพันธุ์พืช โทร. 0 2562 0760 www.dnp.go.th
น้ำตกคลองหินเพลิง ตั้งอยู่ทางด้านจังหวัดจันทบุรี ห่างจากที่ทำการอุทยานฯ ประมาณ 10 กิโลเมตร เป็นน้ำตกขนาดเล็ก มีน้ำไหลตลอดปี สภาพป่ายังสมบูรณ์ ตลอดสองข้างทางของน้ำตกมีดงว่านและดอกไม้ที่แปลกตา มีสัตว์ป่าที่อาจพบเห็นได้
เขาวง มีลักษณะเป็นภูเขาหินปูนหลายลูกล้อมเป็นวง เป็นที่ราบลุ่มอยู่ตรงกลาง บางส่วนเป็นภูเขาสูงชันมีชะโงกผา และมีถ้ำหินงอก หินย้อยที่สวยงาม ประมาณ 80 ถ้ำ ถ้ำที่น่าสนใจ ได้แก่ ถ้ำเพชร ถ้ำละคร ถ้ำสิงห์โต ถ้ำค้างคาว ถ้ำโรงบ่อน ถ้ำเต่า เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ที่บริเวณเขาวงยังเป็นแหล่งอาศัยของเลียงผาที่เป็นสัตว์ป่าสงวน ด้วย

อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาแหลมหญ้า-หมู่เกาะเสม็ด
ตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลบ้านเพ อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองประมาณ 20 กิโลเมตร ได้ รับการประกาศเป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติ เมื่อวันที่ 1 ตุลาคม 2524 มีเนื้อที่ 81,875 ไร่ ครอบคลุมพื้นที่บนฝั่งและในทะเล ตลอดจนเกาะต่าง ๆ ในเขตอำเภอเมือง และอำเภอแกลง ประกอบด้วยสถานที่น่าสนใจ คือ หาดแม่รำพึง เขาแหลมหญ้า และหมู่เกาะเสม็ด อันประกอบไปด้วย เกาะเสม็ด เกาะจันทร์ เกาะสันฉลาม เกาะหินขาว เกาะค้างคาว เกาะกุฎี เกาะกรวย และเกาะปลาตีน
อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาแหลมหญ้า-หมู่เกาะเสม็ด มีเส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติ 3 เส้นทาง คือ เกาะเสม็ด เกาะกุฎี และเขาแหลมหญ้า ในแต่ละเส้นทางจะพบพันธุ์ไม้นานาชนิด เช่น พันธุ์มะนาวป่า ต้นไข่เต่า ต้นขันทองพยาบาท ต้นเสม็ดแดง และสัตว์ป่า เช่น อีเห็นเครือ พังพอนเล็ก ลิงแสม กระรอกหลากสี นกนางแอ่นบ้าน และนกฮูก เป็นต้น นอกจากนั้นทั้ง 3 ยังเป็นจุดชมวิวอีกด้วย

เกาะเสม็ด เชื่อกันว่า คือ เกาะแก้วพิสดาร ในวรรณคดีเรื่องพระอภัยมณี ของสุนทรภู่ เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่มีชื่อของระยอง ที่ได้รับความนิยมทั้งจากชาวไทยและต่างประเทศ ตั้งอยู่ตำบลเพ อำเภอเมือง อยู่ห่างจากชายฝั่งบ้านเพประมาณ 6.5 กิโลเมตร มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 3,125 ไร่ มีลักษณะเป็นเกาะรูปสามเหลี่ยม ส่วนฐานของเกาะอยู่ด้านทิศเหนือ ซึ่งหันเข้าสู่ฝั่งบ้านเพ มีภูเขาสลับซับซ้อนกันอยู่ 2-3 ลูก มีที่ราบอยู่ตามริมฝั่งชายหาด ส่วนใหญ่จะอยู่ทางด้านเหนือและตะวันออก เหตุที่มีชื่อว่า “เกาะเสม็ด” เพราะเกาะนี้มีต้นเสม็ดขาว และเสม็ดแดงขึ้นอยู่มาก ซึ่งในอดีตชาวบ้านนำมาใช้ทำไต้จุดไฟ บนเกาะเสม็ดไม่มีแม่น้ำลำคลอง ประมาณ 80% ของพื้นที่ เป็นภูเขาและป่าไม้เบญจพรรณ ฤดูฝนเริ่มตั้งแต่เดือนพฤษภาคม-กันยายน ช่วงเดือนพฤษภาคมมีมรสุมและคลื่นลมจัดมาก เดือนสิงหาคมมีฝนตกชุก

การเดินทางบนเกาะเสม็ด
บนเกาะเสม็ดมีถนนเพียงสายเดียว เป็นทั้งถนนคอนกรีต และถนนดิน บนเกาะมีรถสองแถวบริการเริ่มจากท่าเรือหน้าด่านไปตามหาดต่าง ๆ แล้วไปสิ้นสุดที่อ่าวปะการัง ราคาขึ้นอยู่กับระยะทาง หรือแล้วแต่จะตกลงกัน ราคาค่ารถสองแถวเริ่มต้นที่ราคาประมาณ 30-50 บาท หรือหากต้องการจะเหมาเที่ยวราคาประมาณ 200-500 บาท
สถานที่น่าสนใจบนเกาะเสม็ด และเกาะใกล้เคียง
ชายหาด หาดต่าง ๆ ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ทางด้านตะวันออกของเกาะ แต่ละหาดอยู่ในอ่าวเล็ก ๆ มีความยาวประมาณ 200 เมตร เรียงตามลำดับจากทิศเหนือไปทิศใต้ ดังนี้ หาดทรายแก้ว หาดหินโคร่ง หาดคลองไผ่ อ่าวพุทรา อ่าวทับทิม อ่าวนวล อ่าวช่อหรืออ่าวลุงหวัง อ่าวคอก อ่าวเทียน อ่าวหวาย อ่าวกิ่ว อ่าวปะการัง ทางด้านตะวันตกมีหาดทรายอยู่แห่งเดียว คือ ที่อ่าวพร้าว ส่วนอ่าววงเดือนอยู่ด้านตะวันออกทางตอนกลางของเกาะเป็นอ่าวโค้งคล้ายพระ จันทร์ครึ่งดวง จากหาดทรายแก้วและหาดวงเดือนเป็นหาดทรายยาวและสวย บริเวณปลายแหลมด้านใต้มีเกาะเล็ก ๆ อยู่ 3 เกาะ ได้แก่ เกาะจันทร์ เกาะสันฉลาม และเกาะหินขาว ซึ่งเป็นที่อาศัยและวางไข่ของนกนางนวล โดยนักท่องเที่ยวสามารถเดินทางไปหาดอื่น ๆ ได้โดยใช้บริการรถรับจ้าง หรือเดินเท้าไปเอง
เกาะกรวย เกาะขาม และเกาะปลาตีน เป็นเกาะที่อยู่ทางตอนเหนือของเกาะกุฎี ประมาณ 600 เมตร เป็นเกาะที่สวยงาม มีปะการัง และสามารถตกปลาได้
เกาะกุฎี หรือเกาะกุด เป็นเกาะหนึ่งในวรรณกรรมของสุนทรภู่ อยู่ทางทิศตะวันออกของเกาะเสม็ด ห่างจากฝั่งประมาณ 6 กิโลเมตร มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 63 ไร่ ใกล้กับเกาะกุฎีมีเกาะขนาดเล็กอีก 2 เกาะ คือ เกาะท้ายค้างคาวและเกาะถ้ำฤาษี มีหาดทรายสวยงามเหมาะแก่การเล่นน้ำ ตั้งแค้มป์ปิ้ง มีหน่วยพิทักษ์อุทยานตั้งอยู่โดยรอบเกาะมีแนวปะการัง สามารถติดต่อเช่าเรือจากบ้านเพได้ บนเกาะไม่มีบริการบ้านพักสำหรับนักท่องเที่ยว แต่มีเต็นท์ให้เช่า พักได้ 3-4 คน ราคา 300 บาท/คืน ในกรณีที่นักท่องเที่ยวนำเต็นท์ไปเองเสียค่าพื้นที่กางเต็นท์ 30 บาท/คน/คืน

พิพิธภัณฑ์หนังใหญ่วัดบ้านดอน

พระเจดีย์กลางน้ำ
ห่าง จากตัวเมืองไปทางใต้ 2 กิโลเมตร ใกล้ปากแม่น้ำระยอง องค์พระเจดีย์ตั้งอยู่บนเกาะกลางแม่น้ำระยอง สร้างเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2416 โดยพระยาศรีสมุทรโภคชัยโชค ชิตสงคราม (เกตุ ยมจินดา) เจ้าเมืองระยองคนแรกเป็นผู้สร้าง เจดีย์กลางน้ำ เป็นเจดีย์ก่ออิฐฉาบปูน ทรงระฆัง สูงประมาณ 10 เมตร นี้ใช้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของชาวเรือว่าได้เดินทางมาถึงเมืองระยองแล้ว ใกล้ ๆ กันยังเป็นป่าชายเลนที่มีต้นโกงกางหนาแน่น มีสะพานไม้คดเยวเข้าไปด้านใน ปลายสุดของศาลาเป็นจุดชมวิวที่ให้นั้งชมบรรยากาศของปากน้ำระยอง พอถึงวันเพ็ญเดือนสิบสองของทุกปีจะมีงานประเพณีห่มผ้าพระเจดีย์ แข่งเรือยาว และงานลอยกระทง
บ้านเพ
บ้านเพ อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยอง 19 กิโลเมตร จากถนนสุขุมวิทแยกขวาตรงกิโลเมตรที่ 231 ไปประมาณ 5 กิโลเมตร หรือแยกขวาตรงกิโลเมตรที่ 238 ประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร มีร้านขายของพื้นเมืองต่าง ๆ เช่น น้ำปลา ปลาหมึก กุ้งแห้ง กะปิ ฯลฯ และเป็นที่ตั้งของท่าเรือไปเกาะเสม็ด และท่าเทียบเรือประมงด้วย
สถานแสดงพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำระยอง
ตั้งอยู่ที่หมู่ 2 ริมอ่าวบ้านเพ ตำบลเพ เป็นสถานที่ศึกษา ทดลองและวิจัยเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ทะเลและพรรณไม้น้ำ อีกทั้งเป็นแหล่งรวบรวมพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำที่สวยงามและหายาก รวมทั้งความรู้ทางด้านทรัพยากรสัตว์ทะเลและการประมง โดยแบ่งการจัดแสดงออกเป็น ๓ ส่วน ส่วนแรก จัดแสดงพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำ โดยรวบรวมและจัดแสดงพันธุ์ปลาสวยงาม ปลาเศรษฐกิจ สัตว์น้ำที่หายาก และพรรณไม้น้ำของไทย อุโมงค์ทางเดินใต้ทะเลจำลอง สัมผัสกับสัตว์ทะเล ส่วนที่สอง จัดแสดงนิทรรศการ โดยแสดงชีวประวัติสัตว์ทะเลที่เลี้ยงลูกด้วยนม วิวัฒนาการของเรือประมงและเครื่องมือประมง จำลองนิเวศน์ป่าชายเลน และ ส่วนที่สาม

ศาลหลักเมือง
ตั้ง อยู่ที่ถนนหลักเมือง เดิมเป็นศาลไม้ ต่อมาได้รับการปฏิสังขรณ์เป็นอาคารก่ออิฐถือปูน ลักษณะอาคารเป็นศาลเจ้าจีน ตัวหลักเมืองเดิมอยู่หน้าศาล ต่อมามีการสร้างเสาหลักเมืองใหม่ และสร้างมณฑปจตุรมุขครอบเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2535 มีงานสมโภชในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ทุกปี
ศาลสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช
อยู่ ในบริเวณวัดลุ่มมหาชัยชุมพล ถนนตากสิน ตำบลท่าประดู่ มีต้นสะตือขนาดใหญ่อยู่หน้าศาล อายุประมาณ 300 ปี เล่ากันว่า สมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินทรงนำช้างมาผูกไว้ที่ใต้ต้นสะตือนี้เมื่อครั้นเสด็จผ่าน ระยองไปเพื่อรวบรวมไพร่พล และตั้งทัพเพื่อเตรียมกู้อิสรภาพที่จันทบุรี ภายในศาลมีรูปหล่อของสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินในท่าประทับยืนประดิษฐานอยู่ และมีงานสมโภชประจำปีในช่วงตรุษจีน ศาลฯ เปิดเวลา 06.00-18.00 น. ทุกวัน การเดินทาง สามารถใช้เส้นถนนสุขุมวิท สาย 3 เริ่มจากตัวเมืองจนถึงหอนาฬิกาประมาณ 200 เมตร จะถึงสามแยกตากสิน ให้เลี้ยวขวาที่สามแยกตากสิน เข้าสู่ถนนตากสินมหาราช
สวนพฤกษชาติโสภา
ตั้ง อยู่ใกล้ปากทางเข้าบ้านเพ ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยองประมาณ 17 กิโลเมตร จากถนนสุขุมวิท กิโลเมตรที่ 238 แยกขวา เข้าไปประมาณ 200 เมตร สวนอยู่ทางด้านขวามือ ภายในเนื้อที่ 32 ไร่ ปลูกต้นไม้หลากหลายชนิด นอกจากนี้ยังมีเรือนไทยโบราณ อายุร่วม 100 ปี จำนวน 3 หลัง จัดแสดงเครื่องลายครามของไทยสมัยต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะเครื่องปั้นดินเผาสมัยบ้านเชียงมีเป็นจำนวนมาก อัตราค่าเข้าชมสำหรับคนไทย ผู้ใหญ่ 30 บาท เด็ก 15 บาท ชาวต่างประเทศ 50 บาท เปิดทุกวัน ยกเว้นวันพฤหัสบดี ตั้งแต่เวลา 08.00-16.00 น. รายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมติดต่อมูลนิธิเสวตรโสภา โทร. 0 3865 1688
สวนสน หรือ สวนรุกขชาติเพ
อยู่ ถัดจากบ้านเพ เป็นระยะทางประมาณ 4 กิโลเมตร หรือห่างจากตัวเมืองระยองประมาณ 29 กิโลเมตร ตามถนนเลียบชายหาดไปแหลมแม่พิมพ์ (ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3145) เป็นพื้นที่ป่าสนริมชายหาดมีต้นสนหลากพันธุ์ขึ้นอยู่ 2 ข้างทางที่เลียบชายหาดปกคลุมอยู่คล้าย ๆ กับอุโมงค์นับเป็นเส้นทางที่สวยงามเส้นหยึ่งของจังหวัดระยอง นอกจากนั้น ยังมีพันธุ์ไม้อื่น ๆ เช่น ไม้ยาง ไม้ตะเคียน เป็นต้น ที่บริเวณสวนสนแห่งนี้ยังเป็นหาดที่เหมาะแก่การเล่นน้ำ และโดยรอยบริเวณมีร้านอาหารไว้บริการนักท่องเที่ยวด้วย
วัดโขดทิมธาราม
ตั้ง อยู่ที่ตำบลท่าประดู่ สร้างขึ้นเมื่อราว พ.ศ. 2007 ผู้สร้างชื่อทิม เป็นเจ้าเมืองระยองในสมัยนั้น สร้างมาตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย ภายในอุโบสถมีภาพจิตกรรมฝาผนัง และหลวงพ่อขาวที่เป็นที่เคารพสักการะบูชาของชาวระยอง และมีการจัดงานบูชานมัสการประจำปี ในวันที่ 13-14 เมษายนของทุกปี
เขาแหลมหญ้า
อยู่ เลยบ้านก้นอ่าวมาเล็กน้อย ตามถนนเลียบชายหาดเป็นเนินเขาเตี้ยๆ ริมทะเล มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 680 ไร่ บางส่วนเป็นแหลมยื่นออกไปในทะเล ปกคลุมด้วยป่าละเมาะ มีจุดชมวิวที่สามารถมองเห็นหาดแม่รำพึงได้ ด้านหน้าเป็นชายหาดยาวและเป็นที่ ตั้งของที่ทำการอุทยานเขาแหลมหญ้า-หมู่เกาะเสม็ด

ศาลสมเด็จกรมหลวงชุมพรฯ
อยู่ ตรงข้ามกับทางแยกเข้าอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาชะเมา-เขาวง ตรงกิโลเมตรที่ 278 เลี้ยวขวาเข้าไปประมาณ 10 กิโลเมตร หรือจะเข้าทางถนนที่เข้าสู่ปากน้ำประแสร์อีกทางหนึ่งก็ได้ ภายในศาลประดิษฐานรูปหล่อเท่าองค์จริงของพลเรือเอกพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอกรมหลวง ชุมพรฯ พระบิดาแห่งกองทัพเรือไทย และเป็นที่เคารพสักการะของชาวเมืองระยอง
สำนักสงฆ์น้ำตกธรรมรส
ตั้ง อยู่ที่ตำบลป่ายุบใน บนเนื้อที่กว่า 300 ไร่ มีหลวงพ่อธรรมรส หรือหลวงพ่อคล้าย ฐิตธัมโม แห่งสำนักสงฆ์น้ำตกธรรมรสเป็นเจ้าอาวาสวัด เป็นสถานที่ปฏิบัติกรรมฐาน มีสถานที่น่าสนใจ เช่น พระพุทธรูปปางพระเจ้าเปิดโลก, พระโพธิสัตว์, หอระฆังปราบมาร, รูปปั้นพระพุทธองค์ทรงโปรดองคุลีมาลและพระอินทร์มาดีดพิณสอนธรรม, รูปปั้นหลวงพ่อโต, มีวนอุทยานสงฆ์น้ำตกธรรมรส ซึ่งสวยงามมาก
การเดินทาง จากกรุงเทพฯ สามารถนั่งรถประจำทางสายกรุงเทพฯ-แกลง หรือสามย่าน มาลงที่หน้าสำนักสงฆ์ได้
แหลมแม่พิมพ์
อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยอง 48 กิโลเมตร จากถนนสุขุมวิทมีทางแยกขวาไปแหลมแม่พิมพ์ถึง 3 แห่งด้วยกัน คือ กิโลเมตรที่ 259.5 กิโลเมตรที่ 263 และกิโลเมตรที่ 268 ผ่านอนุสาวรีย์สุนทรภู่ไปอีก 5 กิโลเมตร หรือห่างจากวังแก้ว ตามถนนเลียบชายหาดไปอีก 11 กิโลเมตร บริเวณชายหาดแม่พิมพ์เล่นน้ำได้ คลื่นไม่แรง มีบริการบ้านพัก และร้านอาหารตลอดแนวชายหาดด้วย
อนุสาวรีย์สุนทรภู่
อยู่เลยแหลมแม่พิมพ์ทางไปอำเภอแกลงประมาณ 5 กิโลเมตร บนเส้นทางแกลง-แหลมแม่พิมพ์ เป็นอนุสาวรีย์ที่สร้างเพื่อเป็นที่ระลึกถึงสุนทรภู่ กวีเอกในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น อนุสาวรีย์นี้เปิดเมื่อวันที่ 25 พฤษภาคม 2513 บริเวณอนุสาวรีย์มีรูปปั้นของตัวละครเอกในเรื่องพระอภัยมณีจัดแสดงไว้ด้วย
หมู่เกาะมัน
เป็นหมู่เกาะในเขตตำบลกร่ำ อำเภอแกลง จังหวัดระยอง หมู่เกาะมันมีอยู่ 3 เกาะ คือ เกาะมันใน เกาะมันกลาง และเกาะมันนอก
เกาะมันใน มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 131 ไร่ มีอ่าวที่น่าสนใจอยู่หลายแห่ง เช่น อ่าวต้นมะขาม อ่าวหินโขดหญ้า อ่าวโกงกาง และอ่าวหน้าบ้าน โดยเฉพาะที่อ่าวหน้าบ้านมีปะการังที่สวยงาม ส่วนอ่าวโกงกางมีทรายเรียบ เกาะมันในมีความสำคัญเนื่องจากเป็นที่ดำเนินการโครงการอนุรักษ์พันธุ์เต่า ทะเล มีพันธุ์เต่าตนุ และเต่ากระ ตามพระราชดำริของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ เปิดให้เข้าชม เวลา 08.30–18.00 น. เกาะมันในอยู่ห่างจากแหลมแม่พิมพ์ 5 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาเดินทาง 30 นาที สามารถเช่าเรือจากแหลมแม่พิมพ์ หรืออ่าวมะขามป้อมก็ได้ ต้องการข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมติดต่อศูนย์วิจัยทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่งอ่าวไทย ฝั่งทะเลตะวันออก เกาะมันใน โทร. 0 3865 7466, 0 3861 6096
เกาะมันกลางและเกาะมันนอก เป็นเกาะที่มีหาดสวยงาม เงียบสงบ เหมาะสำหรับการพักผ่อนมีบ้านพักของเอกชนบริการ
สวนศรีเมือง
ชาวเมืองนิยมเรียกว่า “เกาะกลาง” ตั้งอยู่กลางเมืองด้านหลังศาลากลางจังหวัด เนื้อที่ประมาณ 70 ไร่ เคยเป็นแดนสำหรับประหารนักโทษ ปัจจุบันเป็นที่ตั้งของสวนสาธารณะ และสวนสุขภาพสำหรับประชาชน ด้านหน้าเป็นที่ตั้งของหอพระพุทธอังคีรสซึ่งเป็นอาคารทรงไทย หลังคาจตุรมุข อันเป็นที่ประดิษฐานของพระพุทธอังคีรส ถือเป็นพระพุทธรูปคู่บ้านคู่เมืองของระยอง
การเดินทาง จากทางหลวงหมายเลข 3 ถนนสุขุมวิท เลี้ยวเข้าถนนตากสินมหาราช จนถึงสำนักงานเทศบาลระยองให้เลี้ยวขวาเข้าไปจนถึงฝั่งตรงข้าม
วัดป่าประดู่
อยู่ในเขตเทศบาลนครระยอง ข้างโรงพยาบาลระยอง ถนนสุขุมวิท เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ สันนิษฐานว่า สร้างในสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา ได้รับการยกฐานะเป็นพระอารามหลวงตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2523 ภายในวัดมีสิ่งที่น่าสนใจ ได้แก่
วิหารพระปาลิไลยก์ พระปางปาลิไลยก์ เป็นพระพุทธรูปเก่าแก่อยู่คู่กับวัดนี้เช่นเดียวกับพระพุทธไสยาสน์ องค์พระ สูง 6.02 เมตร ประดิษฐานอยู่ในวิหารที่สร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2501
พระพุทธไสย์ยาสน์ เป็นพระพุทธไสยาสน์ซึ่งประทับอยู่ในท่านอนตะแคงซ้าย องค์พระทำด้วยอิฐถือปูน เดิมอยู่กลางแจ้ง ต่อมาสร้างวิหารครอบเมื่อปี
พ.ศ. 2524 มความยาว 11.95 เมตร
โบสถ์หลังเก่า พระครูสมุทสมานคุณและชาวบ้านร่วมกันสร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2449 การก่อสร้างใช้รูปแบบของสถาปัตยกรรมในยุคสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์ ซึ่งมีหลังคาซ้อนกันสองชั้นประดับด้วยช่อฟ้า ใบระกา นอกจากนี้ยังมีการผสมผสานศิลปกรรมแบบจีน โดยเฉพาะลวดลายปูนปั้นที่หน้าบันของโบสถ์
การเดินทาง สามารถใช้เส้นทางได้ 2 เส้นทาง เส้นทางแรก จากถนนสุขุมวิท สาย 3 ผ่านตัวเมือง จังหวัดระยองจุดสังเกตคือ ผ่านโรงพยาบาลระยอง โรงเรียนวัดป่าประดู่ แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าซอยถนนป่าประดู่จะถึงวัดป่าประดู่ เส้นทางที่ 2 จากถนนสาย 36 (บายพาส) ถึงสี่แยกเกาะลอย ให้เลี้ยวขวาเข้าถนนจันทอุดม ผ่านตัวเมืองจังหวัดระยอง พอถึงสามแยกโรงพยาบาลให้เลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าถนนสุขุมวิท สาย 3 ผ่านโรงพยาบาลระยอง โรงเรียนวัดป่าประดู่ แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าซอยถนนป่าประดู่จะเห็นวัดป่าประดู่
หาดแสงจันทร์
ตั้งอยู่ตำบลปากน้ำ ห่างจากตัวเมือง 7 กิโลเมตร เป็นชายหาดติดต่อกับหาดแหลมเจริญ สามารถเล่นน้ำทะเลได้ มีร้านอาหารและที่พักหลายแห่งไว้บริการนักท่องเที่ยว

อยู่ ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยอง ประมาณ 11 กิโลเมตร จากถนนสุขุมวิท มีทางแยกขวาที่กิโลเมตร 229 เข้าหาดแม่รำพึง ชายหาดมีความยาว 12 กิโลเมตร ถนนเลียบชายหาดยาว 10 กิโลเมตร มีที่พักและร้านอาหารมากมาย ชายหาดสะอาด สุดชายหาดเป็นที่ตั้งของบ้านก้นอ่าวซึ่งเป็นหมู่บ้านชาวประมงพื้นบ้าน
หมายเหตุ : การเล่นน้ำทะเลบริเวณหาดแม่รำพึง ควรระมัดระวังเป็นพิเศษ โดยปฏิบัติตามป้ายเตือนที่ติดตั้งไว้ เนื่องจากบางบริเวณเป็นแอ่งน้ำลึก อาจเกิดอันตรายได้ และไม่ควรเล่นน้ำในขณะคลื่นลมแรง
หาดพยูนและหาดพลา
หาดพยูน อยู่ห่างจากหพลา 3 กิโลเมตร เป็นชายหาดยาวติดต่อกัน นักท่องเที่ยวสามารถลงเล่นน้ำได้ มีความสวยงามและสงบเหมาะแก่การพักผ่อน ส่วน หาดพลา อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองระยอง 35 กิโลเมตร เป็นชายหาดที่เงียบสงบ สามารถเล่นน้ำได้ มีสวนสนปลูกไว้หนาแน่นและร่มรื่น มีโรงแรมและบังกะโลให้เลือกพักหลายแห่ง และทั้งสองหาดมีร้านอาหารหลายร้านไว้บริการนักท่องเที่ยว
