The Past
Pattaya’s name was originated from the march of Phraya Tak (later known as King Taksin the Great) and his followers from Ayutthaya to Chanthaburi just before the fall of the Ayutthaya Kingdom to the Burmese invaders in 1767.
When Phraya Tak’s army arrived in the vicinity of what is Pattaya today, he encountered the troops of Nai Klom who tried to intercept him. When the two leaders met face to face, Nai Klom was awed by Phraya Tak’s dignified manner and his army’s strict discipline, thereby surrendering without a fight. The place where the two armies confronted each other was later called Thap Phraya, which means the Army of the Phraya. This was later changed to Phatthaya, which happens to mean the wind blowing from the southwest to the northeast at the beginning of the rainy season. Today the spelling of the name has been simplified to Pattaya.
For centuries, Pattaya was a small fishing village almost cut off from the outside world. But a big change occurred on 29 April 1961 when the first group of about 100 American servicemen who would join the Vietnam War arrived in Pattaya for relaxation. Soon, sleepy Pattaya became Thailand’s premier and most successful beach resort, which annually attracts hundreds of thousands of pleasure-seeking visitors. A full range of accommodations from super deluxe hotels to bungalows and mini-pocket guesthouses replaced fishermens huts along the beach. Fishing vessels were adapted to become tourist boats and swimmers and sunbathers from various parts of the world frequented the quiet powdery golden beaches. Places of nighttime entertainment have also sprung up and are popular among international tourists.

Pattaya currently integrates the delights of a 1st class beach resort, city-like dining, shopping and night entertainment facilities with more than 300 assorted hotels, thousands of shops, restaurants and bars. Pattaya city is located on the eastern coast of the country at latitude 13 N and longitude 101 E in the area of Chon Buri province. It is 147 kilometers from Bangkok and lies parallel to Sukhumvit Road on its east and the coastline on its west. Pattaya occupies an area of 208.1 sq. km. that is divided into 53.44 sq. kilometers of land and 154.66 sq. kilometers of islands and sea. Its coastline is 15 kilometers long.
Pattaya has a plain on the coast with some high mountains to the south. The area on the east slopes down towards the sea on the west.
Administration
Pattaya City has been administered under a special autonomous system since 1978. It has a status comparable to that of a municipality and is administered separately by the mayor of Pattaya City, who is responsible for making policies, organizing public services, and supervising all employees of Pattaya City Administration.
Travelling to Chon Buri
By Car
Chon Buri is a one-hour drive from Bangkok along Highway No. 34 (Bang Na-Trat). Alternatively, taking the Motor Way (new Bangkok-Chon Buri Route) will reduce travel time.
By Bus
The 1.5-hour journey from Bangkok can be made on regular buses originating from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai). Air-conditioned buses leave Ekkamai every 40 minutes from 5.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tel: 0 2391 9829. Non air-conditioned buses leave Ekkamai every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tel: 0 2391 2504.

Travelling to Pattaya
By car
Pattaya can be reached in a 2.5-hour drive along Bangna-Trat Highway via Bang Pakong, Chon Buri and Si Racha. However, visitors can avoid Chon Buri by opting for Highway 36, the new Chon Buri - Pattaya - Rayong route or taking the motorway from Rama 9 Road.
By bus
Air-conditioned and regular buses depart from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) and Bangkoks Northern Bus Terminal (Mochit 2 Bus Terminal) on Kamphaengphet Road daily. Buses (air-con) depart the Eastern Bus Terminal every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from Mochit II (Northern Bus Terminal) from 5.00 a.m. to 7 p.m.

By train
The State Railway of Thailand offers a daily train service departing Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station at 06.55 a.m., tel. 0 2621 8701. It takes about 5 hours to reach a station located near the Siam Country Club.
By Air
Bangkok Airways provides daily flights connecting Ko Samui and U-Taphao Airport. (Approximately 30 kilometers south of Pattaya).
Travelling in Pattaya
Pattaya City is divided into four major zones: North Pattaya, Central Pattaya, South Pattaya and Chomthian. It should be noted that there is a small mountain known as the Hill, located between South Pattaya and Chomthian. Motorbikes are the most popular mode of transport in Pattaya. However, transportation in the city is facilitated through the use of special cars (song taew), customized pickup trucks with passenger seats in a covered overhead back cabin. These pickups, known as Bahts-Bus, can easily carry 8-10 passengers in the back, plus 1 or 2 passengers in front. They circle around the city and are allowed to stop anywhere. In addition to motorbike-taxis, the Bahts-Buses are the only form of public transport permitted in Pattaya. If not occupied, they also can be hired as private taxis. In fact, they are private vehicles in most cases belonging to the drivers. There are so many of them that they end up looking for passengers.
This compact city consists of 3 major roads that parallel each other. Right along the beach is Beach Rd., which is a one-way road from the north to south that is a few kilometers long. Second Rd. is a hundred or so meters away and carries city transport mainly from the south to north, although it is partly a two-way road. The last road is Sukhumvit Rd, a continuation of the highway leading to Bangkok. Many small streets called Soi(s) cross the roads. And it's advisable to walk some of the small streets, which are enumerated from north to south, although some have names. Second Rd. continues on to South Pattaya and turns to Chomthian reaching Chomthian beach within 5 minutes, and continues alongside Chomthian beach, which is approximately 20 kilometers long with some secluded escapes.
Chomthian Beach Rd., which is a two-way road, also parallels Sukhumvit Rd and is the only road in the Chomthian area, except for some connecting streets. On the other side of Sukhumvit road are several country clubs, golf courses and typical Thai rural villages, providing charming escapes on the banks of sweet-water lakes and small streams in the leisurely and relaxing countryside.
Many kinds of motorbikes, convertible monster Jeeps, sport and passenger cars are offered for rent. A driver's license is not required for driving around Pattaya and vicinity, so many tourists are tempted get behind the wheel. It should be noted that in Thailand drivers drive on the left lane, as in England and Japan.

With no shortage of sand to build sand-stupas, the stupa building contest is a predominant element of the Songkran festivities in Chon Buri.
Residents of the each of the villages in the district gather together to take part in community Buddhist merit-making. Monks are invited to conduct merit-making ceremonies and rituals, whilst local residents present merit-making offerings and sprinkle scented lustral water on Buddha images in a Songkran Thai New Year bathing ritual. Families pay respect to elderly relatives and other respected individuals by pouring scented lustral water over the hands.
Festival highlights include the 'Kong Kao' religious ritual, rarely seen folk games and traditional Thai sports, cockfighting — a popular local sport, the Siracha Miss Songkran beauty pageant and Siracha Songkran Parade.

Ko Lan
Lying about 7.5 kilometers off of Pattaya by a 45-minute ferry or 15 minutes by speed boat ride, the island measures 2 kilometers by 5 kilometers and offers several white sandy beaches, notably Hat Ta Waen, Hat Laem Thian and Hat Thong Long, the latter facing coral reefs. Visitors can choose either snorkeling or viewing the coral from glass bottom boats. Ferries to the island leave South Pattaya pier daily from 10.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Cruises by sailing junks, with lunch provided are also available.
The Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm
The Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm, which is located approximately 9 kilometers from Pattaya City, has beautifully landscaped grounds with elaborate flower and rock gardens. In addition, the farm has hundreds of crocodiles as well as some rare animals, including albino bears and horses. Getting there by car: Drive along Highway No. 3 (Sukhumvit) until you come to the Km. 140 marker near Sawangfah Temple, then turn into Chaiyaphonwithi (Route No.3024) and proceed for 5 kilometers.
The Bottle Museum
As the name implies, this is the place where you can find elaborate bottle creations, including the usual vessels. Located at Km. 145, off of Highway No. 3, the museum features the work of the Dutch master Peter Bedelais. Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Satchatham)
The compound, which covers an area of more than two rais, is situated by the sea at Laem Ratchawet on Na Klua Road, North Pattaya. Within the compound is a gigantic temple-like structure entirely made of wood that is 105 meters high at the highest point which was constructed to withstand wind and sunshine on the seashore. With exquisite architectural features, the sanctuary was conceived out of the vision that human civilization has been achieved and nurtured by religious and philosophical truths.

Pattaya Elephant Village
Located on Phonpraphanimit Road, which is off of Highway No.3 at Km. 145, the Pattaya Elephant Village showcases daily life of elephants and their masters. It also offers stage shows, which demonstrate how to catch wild elephants, elephants-at-work in the jungle, elephants playing football, a grand war, and elephants' parades. Hat Pattaya
The half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach is 4 kilometers long with a road running parallel to the beach. From the mid-section to the southern end of the area, there is a vast array of restaurants, bars, department stores, souvenir stores, as well as other places of entertainment. To the north of the beach are various mini-resorts and hotels in a quieter atmosphere.
It's actually free to stroll along the beaches, but operators will charge you for the services they provide, i.e. the beach chair. A price is roughly $0.5 per chair, though bargaining is rather customary in Thailand.
Khao Chi Chan
Khao Chi Chan features a sculptural image erected to honor His Majesty King erected to honor is Majesty King Bhumibol on te occasion of te 50th anniversary of his enthronenment. The image is a sitting figure called Pang Man Wichai and copied from Phra Phuttawarachabopit which combines both Sukhothai and Lanna arts. Wat Yansangwararam
Situated approximately 15 kilometers south of Pattaya City, the temple, which covers a total area of 146 acres, can be reached by turning left from Sukhumvit Road at Km.160 marker. The temple was built in 1976 to pay respect Somdet Phra Yanasangwon, the present Supreme Patriarch and was later graciously admitted to be under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The temple grounds is comprised of: a mondop (pavilion with four gables) enshrining a replica of the Buddha's footprints, a large stupa where the relics of the Lord Buddha and his disciples are enshrined, Phra Yanaret Vihan and an international pavilion representing the architecture of several countries.
Underwater World Pattaya
A new tourist attraction in town is the largest and most modern ocean aquarium in Asia, boasting a 100-meter-long, 6.4-centimeter-thick acrylic pedestrian tunnel through an underwater environment filled with dozens of marine species.
Located just 200 meters south of Tesco Lotus in South Pattaya, the new theme park covers a total area of 12-rai and is housed in a structure similar to a large circus tent.
The aquarium itself houses more than 4,000 marine animals, comprising more than 200 different species from the region as well as some rare creatures from overseas. Top in the Visitors must-see list is the rare shovelnose ray, a hybrid between a shark and a stingray.

Suan Nong Nooch (Nong Nooch Garden)
Located approximately 18 kilometers south of Pattaya, the Garden can be reached by taking a left turn from Sukhumvit Road at the Km. 163 marker. Ko Kham Undersea
It's a small island situated in the south of Sattahip District approximately 9 kilometers from land, and 45 minutes by boat. It has an approximate area of 61 rai under the responsibility of the Naval Coast Guard. The northern part of the island if full of caral and aquatic animals. Hat Thian Thale
is a new tourist location inside the Navy's Surface to Air and Coast Department General Headquarters. Thian Thale Beach is a sand beach dotted with small knolls, and is approximately 900 meters long. The World Dog Centre
A little under 3 kilometers on Phonpraphanimit Road off Sukhumvit is a canine training facility. Khao Pattaya or Khao Phra Bat
This is a small hill to the south of Pattaya Beach. It is accessible by an asphalt road, which leads up to the hilltop. Khao Pattaya is now the site of the Naval Radio Station where the monument of Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, the Father of Royal Thai Navy, is situated. A sacred Buddha image is also enshrined on the hilltop. The viewpoint on the hilltop offers a panoramic view of Pattaya City and Pattaya Bay.
Bang Sa-re or Bang Saray
A fishing village located approximately 16 kilometers south of Pattaya, Bang Saray can be reached by taking a right turn at the Km. 164 marker (along Sukhumvit Road). This village offers good fishing opportunities and is located approximately 17 kilometers further from the Sattahip deep-water port. Bungalows are available for serious fishing visitors and boats can be chartered to go fishing in the nearby islands. All these small islands are under the jurisdiction of the Royal Thai navy.

ความเป็นมา
ประเพณีแห่พญายม เป็นประเพณีท้องถิ่นที่สำคัญของตำบลบางพระ และถือเป็นประเพณีแห่งเดียวในโลก จัดให้มีขึ้นในงานประเพณีสงกรานต์บางพระของทุกปีต่อเนื่องกันมานานนับร้อย ปี เกิดขึ้นเมื่อราว พ.ศ. 2442 โดยแรงจูงใจที่ทำให้เกิดประเพณีแห่พญายม เนื่องจากราษฎรที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่หมู่บ้านบางพระ คือ หมู่ที่4 ตำบลบางพระปัจจุบัน ประสบปัญหาความเดือดร้อน ฝืดเคืองในการประกอบอาชีพ และเจ็บป่วยกันอยู่เนืองๆ ผู้เฒ่าผู้แก่ในหมู่บ้านมีความเชื่อว่า น่าจะเกิดจากภูตผีปีศาจมารบกวน ก่อความเดือดร้อนให้กับราษฎรในหมู่บ้าน และได้พิจารณาว่าควรจะสร้างสิ่งหนึ่งที่เป็นตัวแทนนำความเดือดร้อนไปที่ อื่น จึงได้คิดจัดสร้างหุ่นพญายม (ทำด้วยโครงไม้ไผ่ คลุมด้วยกระดาษ) จัดพิธีบวงสรวงและจัดขบวนแห่ไปตั้งที่ริมทะเล พร้อมกับจัดอาหารคาวหวานโดยราษฎรในท้องถิ่นได้นำไปถวาย จุดธูปเทียนบูชา เสร็จแล้วก็นำพญายมไปลอยทะเล เพื่อให้น้ำพัดพาไปเสมือนเป็นตัวแทนในการสะเดาะเคราะห์ปลดปล่อยทุกข์ภัย ต่างๆ ส่วนอาหารนั้นก็ได้นำมารับประทานร่วมกันในตอนเย็น
ในปัจจุบันประเพณีแห่พญายมเปรียบเสมือน สัญลักษณ์ของตำบลบางพระ จะมีการจัดงานประเพณีแห่พญายม ในวันที่ 16-18 เมษายน ของทุกปี เพื่อเป็นการอนุรักษ์สืบสานวัฒนธรรม ขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีอันดีงามของท้องถิ่น เผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นสู่สากล และส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมของเทศบาลตำบลบางพระต่อไป

เกาะล้าน
อยู่ห่างชายฝั่งพัทยา 7 กิโลเมตร นั่งเรือโดยสาร 45 นาที หากเดินทางโดยเรือเร็วใช้เวลาเพียง 15 นาที มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 4 ตารางกิโลเมตร มีชายหาดที่สวยงามหลายแห่ง ส่วนใหญ่คึกคักไปด้วยนักท่องเที่ยวที่มาเล่นน้ำ ดูปะการัง เล่นกีฬาทางน้ำ เช่น เรือลากร่มชูชีพ เรือสกี สกู๊ดเตอร์ โดยเฉพาะที่หาดตาแหวน หาดทองหลาง หาดนวล และหาดเทียน ส่วนหาดแสมบรรยากาศเงียบสงบกว่าหาดอื่น บริเวณเกาะล้าน และเกาะเล็ก ๆ ที่อยู่รอบ ๆ เช่น เกาะครก และเกาะสาก เป็นแหล่งตกปลาดำน้ำดูปะการัง ทั้งแบบน้ำลึกและน้ำตื้น และเป็นสถานที่ฝึกหัดเรียนดำน้ำ
การเดินทาง มีเรือโดยสารออกจากท่าเรือแหลมบาลีฮาย พัทยาใต้ไปเกาะล้านทุกวัน พัทยา-เกาะล้าน (ท่าหน้าบ้าน) เที่ยวไปเวลา 07.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00, 15.30, 17.00, 18.30 น. เที่ยวกลับเวลา 06.30, 07.30, 09.30, 12.00, 14.00, 17.00, 18.00 น. อัตราค่าเรือโดยสาร คนละ 30 บาท เรือจอดที่ท่าหน้าบ้าน เรือพัทยา-เกาะล้าน (หาดตาแหวน) เที่ยวไปเวลา 08.00, 09.00, 11.00, 13.00 น. เที่ยวกลับเวลา 13.00, 14.00, 15.00, 16.00 น. หากจะเดินทางต่อไปชายหาดอื่นสามารถเช่าเรือหางยาว หรือรถรับจ้าง นอกจากนี้ยังมีบริการเรือเร็วให้เช่าอยู่ทั่วไปตามชายหาดพัทยา อัตราค่าเช่าประมาณ 3,000 บาท สามารถแวะเที่ยวได้หลายหาดแล้วแต่จะตกลงกัน

วิหารเทพสถิตพระกิติเฉลิม
หรือ ศาลเจ้าหน่าจาซาไท้จื้อ เป็นศาลเจ้าจีนที่ก่อสร้างอย่างสวยงามใหญ่โต ตั้งอยู่ริมเส้นทางเลียบชายทะเลจากอ่างศิลาไปเขาสามมุข มีตึก 4 ชั้น ภายในโอ่โถงตระการตาด้วยสถาปัตยกรรมแบบจีน จุดเด่นด้านศิลปวัตถุที่สำคัญ ได้แก่ รูปปั้นมังกรซึ่งมีมาถึง 2,840 ตัว กระถางธูปศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เสาฟ้าดิน นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นสถานที่ที่มีองค์ไท้ส่วยเอี้ย (ดาวเทพคุ้มครองดวงชะตาประจำปีเกิดของมวลมนุษย์) ครบ 60 องค์ ให้ผู้มาเยือนได้ขอพรได้ตรงตามปีเกิด
ประวัติศาลเจ้าหน่าจาซาไท้จื้อ เดิมเป็นศาลเจ้าขนาดเล็ก สร้างขึ้นโดยอาจารย์สมชาย เฉยศิริ เมื่อปี 2534 ต่อมาศิษยานุศิษย์ พ่อค้า ประชาชนที่เลื่อมใสในองค์เทพเจ้าหน่าซาไท้จื้อ ได้ร่วมบริจาคสร้างศาลเจ้าขึ้นใหม่ ในวโรกาสเฉลิมพระเกียรติครบรอบ 72 พรรษาของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เมื่อวันที่ 11 มกราคม 2541 สมเด็จพระสังฆราชฯ เสด็จมาเป็นประธานพิธีเททองหล่อพระพุทธ 7 องค์ และพระราชทานนามศาลเจ้าแห่งนี้ว่า "วิหารเทพสถิตพระกิติเฉลิม" ซึ่งหมายความว่า ที่สถิตของทวยเทพเจ้าทั้งหลาย ปัจจุบัน ประกอบด้วยอาคารหลัก 3 หลัง หอฟ้าดิน 1 หลัง บนเนื้อที่ 13 ไร่ ติดต่อสอบถามรายละเอียด โทร. 0 3839 8381-4, 0 3839 8399 เว็บไซต์ http://www.najathai.net
พิพิธภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติวิทยาเกาะและทะเลไทย
อยู่บริเวณเขาหมาจอ ตำบลแสมสาร อำเภอสัตหีบ เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์มีชีวิต จัดตั้งขึ้นโดยกองทัพเรือ ตามพระราชดำริของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดา ฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เพื่อเป็นแหล่งศึกษาธรรมชาติสำหรับเยาวชน และประชาชนทั่วไป ได้เห็นความหลากหลายของทรัพยากรไทย และเข้ามาเรียนรู้ธรรมชาติแห่งชีวิต สรรพสิ่งล้วนพันเกี่ยว ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การอนุรักษ์ พัฒนา และใช้ประโยชน์ทรัพยากรอย่างยั่งยืน
พิพิธภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติวิทยาเกาะและทะเลไทย ประกอบด้วยอาคารบนเนินเขา 5 หลัง จัดแสดงเรื่องราวต่าง ๆ อาทิ โครงการอนุรักษ์พันธุกรรมพืชอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริฯ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างหิน ดิน ชีวิต งานอุทกศาสตร์ทางทะเล รูปแบบชนิดของหิน ดิน แร่ ระบบนิเวศของป่าพันธุ์พืชและสัตว์ ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพที่พบตามเกาะต่าง ๆ ระบบนิเวศป่าชายเลน ปัญหามลพิษที่เกิดขึ้นในท้องทะเลไทย ภาวะโลกร้อน และยังมีการจัดแสดงงานของกองทัพเรือในการรักษาอธิปไตยของชาติการพัฒนาประเทศ และโครงการอนุรักษ์
นอกจากนี้ บนพื้นที่ของเกาะแสมสาร ยังมีการจัดทำเป็นสวนพฤกษศาสตร์ สวนรุกขชาติ เส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติบนเกาะ ฝายชะลอความชุ่มชื้นตามแนวทางพระราชดำริ หรือที่เรียกว่า Check Dam และใช้เกาะข้างเคียง ได้แก่ เกาะแรด เกาะขาม เกาะจวง เกาะจาน เกาะฉางเกลือ เกาะโรงโขน เกาะโรงหนัง และเกาะปลาหมึก เป็นแหล่งรักษาพันธุกรรมพืชตามเกาะ

ไร่องุ่นซิลเวอร์เลค

หาดจอมเทียน
ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศใต้อยู่หางจากตัวเมืองพัทยาประมาณ 4 กิโลเมตร ชายหาดมีความยาว 6 กิโลเมตร มีถนนที่ร่มรื่นเลียบชายหาดโดยตลอด หาดจอมเทียนเป็นหาดที่เงียบสงบ นักท่องเที่ยวทั้งชาวไทย และชาวต่างประเทศนิยมเดินทางไปพักผ่อน เล่นน้ำ และกิจกรรมกีฬาทางน้ำ
บ้านสุขาวดี
เป็นคฤหาสน์ริมทะเลพัทยาของ ด.ร.ปัญญา โชติเทวัญ เจ้าของสหฟาร์ม ตกแต่งภายในบ้านและสวนภายนอกสวยงาม เปิดให้นักท่องเที่ยวทั่วไปเข้าชมทุกวัน เวลา 08.30-18.00 น. ค่าเข้าชม ชาวไทย 100 บาท เด็ก 50 บาท ชาวต่างชาติ ผู้ใหญ่ 300 บาท

พระพุทธรูปแกะสลักเขาชีจรรย์
ตั้งอยู่เส้นทางเดียวกับทางไปวัดญานสังวราราม โดยแยกจากถนนสุขุมวิท บริเวณ กม. 160 ไปอีก 6 กิโลเมตร เป็นพระพุทธรูปปางมารวิชัย แกะสลักด้วยแสงเลเซอร์บนหน้าผาของเขาชีจรรย์ ศิลปสุโขทัยผสมล้านนา ขนาดความสูง 130 เมตร หน้าตักกว้าง 70 เมตร มีชื่อว่า “พระพุทธมหาวชิรอุตตโมภาสศาสดา” สร้างเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2539 เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ภายในพระอุระบรรจุพระรัตนะบรมสารีริกธาตุ บริเวณโดยรอบตกแต่งเป็นสวนพักผ่อนหย่อนใจสวยงาม อยู่ในความดูแลของกองทัพเรือ หน่วยบัญชาการนาวิกโยธิน
อุทยานใต้ทะเลเกาะขาม
เกาะขามเป็นเกาะขนาดเล็ก ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกของเกาะแสมสาร เป็นเกาะที่มีทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ มีชายหาดที่สวยงาม
กิจกรรมท่องเที่ยวประกอบด้วย การนั่งเรือท้องกระจกชมประการัง การดำน้ำชมประการัง เล่นน้ำทะเลริมหาดทรายที่ใสสะอาด ชมหมู่เกาะและทัศนียภาพทางทะเล รับความรู้และข้อมูลด้านการอนุรักษ์ธรรมชาติ

ศูนย์อนุรักษ์พันธุ์เต่าทะเล กองทัพเรือ
เป็นแหล่งให้ความรู้ทางด้านชีววิทยา เกี่ยวกับวงจรชีวิตของเต่าทะเล สำหรับคณะต่างๆที่เข้าเยี่ยมชม จะได้รับฟังวิทยากรบรรยายชมวีดีทัศน์ นิทรรศการ และเยี่ยมชมความน่ารักของเต่าทะเลที่บ่ออนุบาล เพื่อให้ประชาชนทั่วไป โดยเฉพาะเยาวชนได้สัมผัสกับวงจรชีวิตของเต่าทะเล เกิดความรู้สึกรักและหวงแหนทรัพยากรเต่าทะเลของไทยที่กำลังจะสูญพันธุ์

เกาะสีชัง
เป็น เกาะใหญ่ที่มีฐานะเป็นอำเภอหนึ่งของชลบุรี อยู่ห่างจากฝั่งศรีราชาประมาณ 12 กิโลเมตร เป็นที่จอดพักเรือสินค้านานาชาติ และเป็นเกาะที่น่าท่องเที่ยวในบรรยากาศแบบท้องถิ่น ซึ่งสามารถแวะท่องเที่ยวในวันเดียวหรือพักค้างคืนก็ได้ ชุมชนเกาะสีชังอยู่ทางด้านตะวันออกของเกาะ เป็นที่ตั้งของท่าเรือเทววงศ์ (ท่าล่าง) และเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นการเดินทางด้วยรถสามล้อเครื่องหรือสกายแล็ปไปยังจุดอื่น ๆ บนเกาะสีชังจุดท่องเที่ยวบนเกาะสีชัง ได้แก่
ศาลเจ้าพ่อเขาใหญ่ ตั้งอยู่บนเขาห่างจากท่าเรือเทววงศ์ไปทางด้านเหนือของเกาะ เป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่ชาวเกาะสีชังให้ความเคารพนับถือ ลักษณะเป็นถ้ำซึ่งดัดแปลงเป็นศาสนสถาน ที่ผสมผสานด้วยสถาปัตยกรรมจีนและไทย จากบริเวณศาลมองเห็นทิวทัศน์บ้านเรือนด้านหน้าเกาะได้ชัดเจน
มณฑปรอยพระพุทธบาท อยู่สูงขึ้นไปบนยอดเขาเดียวกับศาลเจ้าพ่อเขาใหญ่ รัชกาลที่ 5 ทรงอัญเชิญมาประดิษฐานไว้ บนยอดเขาเป็นจุดชมทิวทัศน์ทะเลได้โดยรอบ
ช่องเขาขาด ตั้งอยู่ด้านหลังของเกาะ หากนั่งเรือผ่านจะเห็นเป็นช่องเขา ในบริเวณมีสะพานสำหรับเดินชมทิวทัศน์ สามารถชมพระอาทิตย์ตกได้สวยงาม มีหาดหินกลม ซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยหินกลม ๆ ขนาดต่าง ๆ มากมาย ในอดีตเคยเป็นที่ตั้งพลับพลาที่ประทับชมทิวทัศน์ของรัชกาลที่ 5
พระจุฑาธุชราชฐาน ห่างจากท่าเทววงศ์ลงมาทางใต้ของเกาะ สร้างในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 เพื่อเป็นที่ประทับในฤดูร้อน ภายในบริเวณมีสภาพภูมิทัศน์ที่งดงาม ด้านหน้าเป็นชายหาดท่าวัง ถัดขึ้นไปเป็นตึกวัฒนา พระตำหนักทรงปั้นหยา เรือนไม้ลวดลายขนมปังขิง ตึกผ่องศรีหรือศาลาแปดเหลี่ยม ตึกอภิรมย์ และวัดวัดอัษฎางค์นิมิตรบนยอดเขาซึ่งก่อสร้างแบบสถาปัตยกรรมไทยผสมตะวันตก ส่วนพระราชวังซึ่งทำด้วยไม้สักได้รื้อไปก่อสร้างเป็นพระที่นั่งวิมานเมฆ ที่กรุงเทพฯ นอกจากนี้ยังมีสิ่งก่อสร้างอื่น ๆ ได้แก่ สระน้ำ บ่อน้ำ สะพานท่าเทียบเรือ และประภาคาร
หาดถ้ำเขาพัง ตั้งอยู่ด้านตะวันตกของเกาะ เป็นชายหาดกว้าง สะอาดและสวยงาม มีทรายละเอียด น้ำใสสะอาดเหมาะแก่การเล่นน้ำ
การเดินทางท่องเที่ยวบนเกาะ เนื่องจากสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวบนเกาะสีชังอยู่ห่างกันพอสมควร จะสะดวกมากหากจะเช่ารถสามล้อเครื่องจากท่าเทียบเรือไปชมสถานที่ต่าง ๆ ใช้เวลาประมาณชั่วโมงเศษก็เที่ยวได้ทั่วเกาะ ค่าเช่ารถสามล้อเครื่อง คิดเป็นรอบ ๆ ละประมาณ 150-250 บาท ขึ้นอยู่กับระยะเวลาและระยะทาง
การเดินทาง จากกรุงเทพฯไปเกาะสีชัง ขึ้นรถจากสถานีขนส่งเอกมัยไปศรีราชา โดยลงรถที่หน้าห้างโรบินสันศรีราชา แล้วต่อรถมอเตอร์ไซค์รับจ้างหรือสามล้อเครื่องมายังท่าเรือ
มีเรือโดยสารจากศรีราชาไปเกาะสีชังทุกวัน ระหว่างเวลา 07.00-20.00 น. ออกทุก ๆ ชั่วโมง ใช้ระยะเวลาประมาณ 45 นาที อัตราค่าโดยสาร คนละ 40 บาท และจากเกาะสีชังมีเรือบริการข้ามมายังเกาะลอยฝั่งศรีราชา ตั้งแต่เวลาประมาณ 06.00-18.00 น. มีเรือออกทุก ๆ ชั่วโมง รายละเอียดสอบถามได้ที่ เรือสีชังพาเลซ โทร. 0 3821 6276-82 หรือ เรือแสงประทีปบริการ โทร. 0 3831 3687

หาดนางรำ

วัดญาณสังวรารามวรมหาวิหาร
มีเนื้อที่กว้างขวางถึง 366 ไร่ แยกซ้ายจากถนนสุขุมวิทตรง กม. 160 ไปอีก 5 กิโลเมตร เป็นวัดที่สร้างขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2519 เพื่อถวายสมเด็จพระญาณสังวรฯ สมเด็จพระสังฆราชองค์ปัจจุบัน และต่อมาพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงรับเป็นองค์อุปถัมภก บริเวณทางเข้ามีศาลานานาชาติ ซึ่งเป็นสถาปัตยกรรมประจำชาติของประเทศต่าง ๆ ตั้งอยู่เรียงรายริมสระน้ำ ภายในบริเวณวัดมีมณฑปประดิษฐานรอยพระพุทธบาทจำลอง พระเจดีย์ใหญ่ซึ่งบรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุของพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าและพระธาตุ ของพระอรหันต์สาวก วิหารพระญาณเรศร์ โทร. 0 3823 7506 นอกจากนี้ยังมีบริเวณที่เป็นโครงการพระราชดำริ ศูนย์ฝึกเกษตรและบริเวณอนุรักษ์สัตว์ป่า โทร. 0 3823 8060 , 0 3823 5250
เรือรบหลวงจักรีนฤเบศร
ตั้งอยู่ที่ท่าเรือน้ำลึกจุกเสม็ด ได้รับพระราชทานชื่อจากพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ว่า “จักรีนฤเบศร” หมายถึง ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่แห่งราชวงศ์จักรี เป็นเรือที่ต่อในประเทศสเปน เมื่อปี 2537 เรือลำนี้มีทั้งหมด 11 ชั้น มีความยาว 182 เมตร กว้าง 30.5 เมตร เป็นเรือที่มียุทโธปกรณ์ที่ทันสมัย มีระบบเรด้าห์ตรวจการณ์ระยะไกล ภารกิจที่สำคัญในยามสงคราม ทำหน้าที่เป็นเรือธง ควบคุมและบังคับบัญชากองเรือในทะเลทั้งหมด และยังเป็นเรือบรรทุกเครื่องบิน ควบคุมการปฏิบัติการป้องกันภัยทางอากาศอีกด้วย เปิดให้เข้าชมทุกวันเวลา 08.00-16.00 น. โดยไม่เสียค่าเข้าชม นักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างประเทศต้องทำหนังสือถึง ผู้บัญชาการกองเรือยุทธการ สัตหีบ ชลบุรี 20180 สอบถามรายละเอียด โทร. 0 3843 8457-62
ปราสาทสัจธรรม
